1. Who we are

Spoken Over Me is operated by Holly Teegarden, an individual based in Pennsylvania, United States. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data. Contact: info@spokenoverher.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, password hash, and authentication tokens.
  • Profile data: optional preferences such as reminder time and small-group memberships.
  • Your Content: journal entries, prayers, notes, scripture references, shared prayer requests, and any other content you create.
  • Usage and device data: log events, device type, browser, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP. Used for security, debugging, and product improvement.
  • Support communications: messages you send us by email.
  • Payment data: handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We receive your subscription status, plan, and billing-period dates from Paddle; we do not see or store your full card number.

3. How we use your data

  • Create and manage your account (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • Provide journaling features, store Your Content, and sync across your devices (contract).
  • Process subscriptions, entitlements, and renewals via Paddle (contract).
  • Send service-related notifications such as scripture push notifications you've opted into, password resets, and account alerts (contract / consent for push notifications).
  • Keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug issues (legitimate interests).
  • Improve the product through aggregated, non-identifying analytics (legitimate interests).
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Who we share data with

  • Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record for payments, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that store data and run the Service on our behalf under data-processing agreements.
  • Other members of your small group — only the content you choose to share with the group (e.g., shared prayer requests).
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
  • Authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Our infrastructure may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) provided by our processors.

6. Data retention

We keep Your Content and account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, billing records for tax purposes).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Receive a portable copy of your data;
  • Withdraw consent for processing based on consent (e.g., push notifications);
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and keep it private.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies; some features may not work without them.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this notice from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or in-app notice.
